Cineflix Rights has acquired exclusive global distribution rights to the eye-opening new science and natural history series Storm Stories: The Next Chapter from US broadcaster The Weather Channel television network.

Storm Stories: The Next Chapter (8×60’, Towers Productions for The Weather Channel television network, US) showcases dramatic tales of severe weather including devastating hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, wildfires, mudslides, and presents first-person accounts of those who survived them. Combining archival footage, CGI, and vivid reenactments, the series reveals the ingenuity and compassion of these brave souls, and proves yet again, that while we’re always at the mercy of nature, these deadly disasters inevitably bring out the very best in people.

Storm Stories: The Next Chapter was the number one new series of the year on The Weather Channel television network, performing 40 percent above average audiences for original programming – with nearly 16 million people watching the series since its premiere.

Richard Life, Head of Acquisitions, Cineflix Rights said: “We are thrilled to be teaming up with The Weather Channel and Towers Productions to bring this top rating series to international buyers. Storm Stories: The Next Chapter blends incredible footage with amazing survivor testimonies which will be equally gripping for global audiences.”
